Flu Clinics 2020

Posted on September 22nd, 2020

This year due to COVID-19 we have had to make changes to the way we deliver our flu clinics to allow for social distancing measures to be followed in line with government guidance thus ensuring patient and staff safety.

Over 65’s & Under 65’s at risk
For this cohort of patients we will be running a mass flu clinic at the Emirates stadium with the support of Islington GP Federation. These clinics will be run throughout October and November with weekday and weekend dates available. All eligible patients will receive a text message with a link to book an appointment online!

Over 80’s, Pregnant Women, Shielding patients and other eligible patients
For this cohort of patients we have teamed up with Andover Medical Centre to deliver these flu clinics. Clinics will be located at The Andover Medical Centre, Hornsey Road for two weeks on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays commencing 06/10/20. All patients will be contacted by The Village Practice Team by either phone/ text or letter to be booked in for an allocated appointment.

* Pre-school children aged 2-3 years will be vaccinated at The Village Practice. Children aged 4-10 years will normally be vaccinated at school.

We have started sending invitations, all patients should be contacted within the next couple of weeks.

Please note that people in the 50-64-year old age group will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first. If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which are eligible for the flu vaccination, for example, you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.

Unsure if you are eligible? Like to find out some more information? please call reception on 0207 700 6464 and one of our team will be happy to help.

It is vital that you DO NOT attend for vaccination if you or a member of your household currently has symptoms of COVID-19 or if you are self-isolating due to contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19.
