The International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPD) is observed on December 3rd every year. It was proclaimed by the United Nations in 1992 to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development.

The day aims to raise awareness about the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and promote a more inclusive and accessible world. It also focuses on advocating for the rights of people with disabilities, highlighting the importance of improving their social inclusion, accessibility, and equality in education, employment, and healthcare.

Each year, the United Nations assigns a theme to this day to address specific issues or areas of focus related to disability. Activities on IDPD often include awareness campaigns, public events, and discussions aimed at breaking down stereotypes and building a more inclusive society.
